The Summit Church offers several types of counseling ministry, each designed to unpack the hope of the gospel for the unique features of our various struggles.

Small Groups

Even if you choose another part of our church’s ministry for care at this time, we highly recommend joining a small group. The sustainability of any change will be greatly enhanced by the relationships, encouragement, and accountability a small group provides.

Recovery Support Groups (G4)

G4 groups provide a small group atmosphere where individuals invest a season of their life in overcoming a particular life-dominating struggle of sin or suffering. These groups provide a safe environment where members learn insights and skills that will allow them to more fully engage in biblical community.

Counseling Seminar: Overcoming Anger

September 28, 2019 at the Brier Creek Campus. We live in a broken world where legitimate desires often get disappointed, fallen people often offend us, and loved ones frequently forget things that are important to us. Anger as an emotion with a lot of momentum and it easily runs away with us. This is an important seminar for every person (whether we yell frequently or not). Come and learn how the gospel both informs and empowers us to respond to real wrongs in a way that brings hope instead of regret and change instead of shame. This is a life lesson none of us an afford to neglect.

Counseling Seminar: Gaining a Healthy Relationship with Food

October 26, 2019 at the Brier Creek Campus. We don’t just consume food. We have a relationship with food. From infancy, bad behavior meant “no dessert” and if we worked hard we “deserved a treat.” We “cast our cares” on comfort foods instead of the God of all comfort, and we live with a sense of guilt or anxiety over our eating habits. This seminar is intended to counter this strong cultural tendency. This seminar addresses both over-indulgence and/or over-restriction in your relationship with food, and points to the same answer for both: the freedom of Christ.
